Why did you start teaching?
Having recently retired, I wanted to explore some interests and enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training. I really wanted to learn more about yoga, not only the poses but also the history and philosophy. When I started teaching at a local gym as part of my training, I found that I enjoyed it!
What keeps you motivated?
It’s very motivating to see students gain more mobility as they regularly practice. It’s great to have people discover that they can do yoga, even if they have never tried it before or it’s been a while. I love to see the relaxation and “feel good” that happens at the end of practice after Savasana.
What should students expect of your class?
In the Wednesday morning Gentle Yoga class, we move through a variety of poses but at a slower pace. Modifications are always offered, and the class has a relaxed atmosphere. The goal is to feel better in your body and have a little fun. It’s a great class for seniors or beginners.
What do you love about the studio?
The studio has a great environment and everything you can think of for practicing yoga. So, all you need is to bring yourself in some stretchy clothes.
